Recruit-A-Friend Rewards Changing Soon

March 09, 2023
Coming Soon: New RAF Rewards
Blizzard recently announced that new rewards would be coming to the Recruit-A-Friend program in the upcoming content patch (releasing March 21). [source]

Starting in Patch 10.0.7, a recruited friend that adds at least one month of game time to their account will earn you the new Volatile Self-Driving Toolbox pet. More rewards can be earned for additional game time, however only one month is necessary to collect this battle pet.

Rikki
The release of a new pet (and other items) will mean the current RAF rewards will be retired soon. This includes the existing RAF pet reward, Rikki (pictured right). It's unknown if they'll be made available again in the future, or if we'll be able to collect them through some other avenue (such as the in-game Trading Post feature).

Note that any recruited friends that are currently active will continue to earn you rewards for the existing set of rewards (includes Rikki). If their subscription lapses at any point after 10.0.7, any new game time added will apply to the next set of rewards (includes the new pet).

Be sure to recruit a friend soon if you don't want to miss out on Rikki. Alternatively, learn how you can recruit yourself for the rewards.

We're eager to find out what the Volatile Self-Driving Toolbox pet looks like, and we'll include it in the WarcraftPets database as soon as possible.

March's Trading Post Pet
Pandaren Monk
Speaking of the Trading Post — Available this month from this in-game feature is the Pandaren Monk (pictured right)!

This pet was previously a Blizzard Store item, however it was recently retired and instead included in the Trading Post. It now costs 650 Trader's Tender, but don't wait too long to purchase this pet. Once this month ends the Trading Post rewards will change and it's unknown when the Pandaren Monk will be for sale again.

Patch 10.0.7: 19 New Pets

March 21, 2023
Patch 10.0.7
Patch 10.0.7 is live this week and there are new battle pets to collect and battles to overcome. [source]

New Pets
19 new pets have been added in the latest content patch.

The majority of pets can be found on the new zone, The Forbidden Reach. Kill rares, loot treasures, and even head into the Zskera Vault to find new companions to join your adventures.

Volatile Self-Driving Toolbox
Check out new pets in 10.0.7!

The final pet included in this patch is the Volatile Self-Driving Toolbox (pictured right). This pet is a new reward from the Recruit-A-Friend program. We'll be adding this pet to our database as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we'll see you on The Forbidden Reach!

New World Quests & Achievements
Want to challenge your newly found pets? 10.0.7 brings an excellent quality of life change. Each Dragon Isles zone will now have one Pet Battle World Quest up per day, instead of only one active for the entire island.

Additionally, there are 8 new World Quests to complete on the Dragon Isles, plus four Pet Battle "Bosses" on The Forbidden Reach. Completing all of these will award the achievements Battle on the Dragon Isles II and Global Swarming.

The Forbidden Reach "Boss" pet encounters have an additional reward — a collectible pet that corresponds with the elemental pet you defeat!

Independent of the other Dragon Isles Pet Battle World Quests, one of four possible elemental Pet Battle World Quests will be active each day on The Forbidden Reach.

3 difficulty levels
These are unique battles as the elite pet NPC has three difficulty/quality levels: Legendary, Epic, and Rare, with each NPC starting at Legendary.

NPC pet empowering the Boss
Players can temporarily lower the difficulty by defeating nearby pets (example pictured right) that are empowering the elemental elite. These are single enemy encounters, and each defeated pet lowers the quality by one.

Everyone in the same phase will see the same difficulty, and each player can assist in lowering the quality of the "Boss" pet by defeating nearby enemy pets. Weakening the "Boss" to Rare and then completing the World Quest will reward a pet.

Difficulty regenerates over time, so don't linger around too long (roughly 10 to 20 minutes) without completing the World Quest, otherwise you'll need to go through the process of weakening the elemental again. Or you can always test your pet team against the elemental NPC in its most difficult state.

Secret Pet Found: Phoenix Wishwing

March 30, 2023
Phoenix Wishwing
Thanks to the WoW Secret Finding Discord, a new battle pet has been discovered — Phoenix Wishwing (pictured right)!

To collect this pet players will need to procure the following:

The Phoenix Ash Talisman is sold by Zektar in Spires of Arak (may require some zone-campaign progression to see this NPC).

This Arakkoa vendor won't give up this talisman easily, though. In order to buy it you'll need to collect:

Note that the Glittering Phoenix Ember can only be looted from Alysrazor during Cataclysm Timewalking (Firelands raid). This event is going on right now this week, so be sure to find a group and defeat Alysrazor, or you'll need to wait until the next Cataclysm Timewalking event comes around.

Once you've purchased the talisman using the reagents listed above, and have the feathers and ashes previously mentioned, head to Tarjin the Blind on The Waking Shores to collect your new phoenix companion!

We're ecstatic that another previously datamined pet has been discovered. We'll be adding Phoenix Wishwing to our database as soon as we can, thank you for your patience!
