To collect this pet, players must first unlock 'snail racing' by reaching Renown 7 with the Loamm Niffen faction.

There are 3 different snail racing quests and pet rewards, plus a meta-achievement that also rewards a pet.

Same for me as the below comment, was able to get a snail before renown 7 (just a different snail though), however now that I am renown 7 it has bugged out my game and I am unable to do the quest for any of the other snails :(

I was able to unlock this at Renown 2. I went over to the racing area and there was a quest that once completed, rewarded Tricky.
