In honor of Mats “Ibelin” Steen, a Norwegian World of Warcraft player who suffered from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Blizzard has released The Reven Pack. It includes a detective-themed fox pet, Reven, and cosmetic backpack (pet available in both Retail and Classic, however the backpack is only available in Retail).
This special bundle is available now through January 7, 2025, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to CureDuchenne.
CureDuchenne is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve and extend the lives of those living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, through research toward a cure and education and outreach.
You can learn more about Mats “Ibelin” Steen's story from the Reven Pack Trailer on Youtube, or the documentary, The Remarkable Life of Ibelin, available on Netflix.
Players that continue to keep Mats in their hearts can now escort the memory of him through more adventures in Azeroth via an inquisitive little fox. Adopt Reven before January 7 to support CureDuchenne, and help those living with muscular dystrophy.
A Cool New Friend
A new baby murloc pet is available with figurine purchase from the Blizzard Gear Store. [source]
Players can adopt Brrrgl (pictured right) by purchasing the World of Warcraft Ice Murloc Funko Pop! Figure. It costs $18 USD (not including tax and shipping). This is a limited time offer, with limited supply.
Upon purchasing the toy, a separate email will be sent that includes a code for this murloc pet. Note that this email may not arrive immediately. Be sure to check your Spam/Promotions folder.
Although the pet-offer seems to only apply to US-residents, it's possible for players in other countries to claim an unused code.
Upcoming Promotion
Starting November 4, 2024 through January 31, 2025, collectors can purchase specially marked Mountain Dew, Rockstar Energy Drink, and Doritos products to acquire codes. After creating an account on DoritosDewRockstar.com, these codes can be submitted to earn points, which can then be used to redeem digital items.
WoW players can choose from the following list of items:
- Thrillbot 9000
- Chillbot 9000
- Bot Wrangler’s Violet Apron (Tabard)
- Bot Wrangler’s Crimson Apron (Tabard)
- Hateforged Blazecycle (mount)
- Lil’ Ragnaros
Lil' Ragnaros is currently sold in the Blizzard Store, so it's interesting that it will also be available as a redeemable reward.
It's unclear if Thrillbot 9000 and Chillbot 9000 will be battle pets, but considering the previous Mountain Dew Game Fuel promotion in 2009 that rewarded the Warbot pet, there's a high likelihood these two new bots will also be pets.
Similar to the Gummi promotion, this campaign is only open to US residents. Signing up requires first and last name, a valid residential address, email, date of birth, and phone number.
Additional details and restrictions: One account per person/email address, and limit three accounts per registered mailing address. Participants can only submit 15 codes per day, and there are limits on how many digital items can be redeemed per account. For additional details, see the Mountain Dew Gaming Program Terms.
We'll have to wait see whether the two bots are indeed pets, and how many points they'll require.
This makes me so sad as a EU player =(
Just to let you know that the murloc funko and Brrrgl is/was available in the UK too, on the UK Blizzard Store. I bought the pop and the code for Brrrgl was emailed to me.
Yet another pet promotion that freezes out Canadians- geographical pun intended
More US-only promotions?? Why? Do they not realise that people in other countries play this game too.
I am an Australian player and would like the opportunity to have a chance at getting these new mountain Dew Pets (I have Lil" Ragnaros), the New Mount or the new Baby Murlock. Unfortunately because I live in Australia are excluded because I do not live in the U.S (Or the U.K for the Murlock) If anyone has an unused code can you send me an email that is associated with this account. please. Thank you
I love the New charity pet, but the current Blizz obsession to put a hat on new pets is really off-putting especially as it's the same hat on all of them -.-
@Durkmenistan - You're right! Thanks for pointing this out, updated the post.
Lil' Ragnaros has not been retired; it is still purchaseable in the Battle.net store.
Brrrgl is sold out on the UK store already
