Patch 10.1: 35+ New Pets & 4 New Trainers

May 02, 2023
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Gerald is currently bugged and not being awarded for completing Family Battler of Zaralek Cavern. Some players that have submitted a ticket have received the pet in the mail, but hopefully Blizzard fixes this achievement soon.

UPDATE #2: A hotfix was released (May 10th) for Gerald. Those that have yet to finish the Family Battler achievement will receive this pet upon completion. For those that earned the achievement prior to this hotfix, Blizzard is still working on a solution to properly reward players. [source]

Patch 10.1
Ready to collect new pets and defeat new trainers? The latest content patch is live this week! [source]

New Pets
We know of 37 new collectible pets in 10.1, but many more were datamined during the PTR cycle. It's possible we'll discover a few more later down the road.

Here is a summary of battle pets currently available in the patch. The majority will come from a new zone, Zaralek Cavern.

  • 14 wild pets
  • 9 pets from drops and treasures
  • 4 quest rewards
  • 3 achievement pets
  • 3 vendor pets
  • 2 Renown pets
  • 1 promotional pet
  • 1 from an unknown source

Check out new pets in 10.1!

Which battle pet are you most excited to collect? Which datamined pet do you hope to see in the near future? (The correct answer is: "All of them" ...but we might be a little biased.)

New Battles
4 new trainers can be found in Zaralek Cavern. Completing all of these with a full team of level 25 pets will reward the achievement, Battle in Zaralek Cavern.

Gerald
Want more of a challenge? The "Family Familiar/Battler" style achievements are back. Use teams comprised of pets from the same family to defeat these 4 trainers to earn Family Battler of Zaralek Cavern, which also rewards Gerald (pictured right), a cute new phoenix companion!

Need help creating teams for this achievement? Check out Xu-Fu's Family Battler of Zaralek Cavern page for some tips and inspiration.

New Pet: Mote of Nasz'uro

May 18, 2023
Thanks to the unlocking of the Evoker Legendary weapon, Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy, players can now collect a new non-combat pet! [source]

Mote of Nasz'uro
The Mote of Nasz'uro (pictured right) pet becomes available region-wide after the first Evoker Legendary is completed in said region. Both NA and EU should now have access to this pet.

Upon the completion of the legendary, a region-wide emote/announcement is made, and stray glowing yellow orbs will appear in set locations all across the Dragon Isles. Collecting all of these orbs will reward the pet.

Thanks to the WoW Secret Finding Discord, we know the whereabouts of all 16 Motes. Most, if not all, will require dragonriding, and a few might be trickier to reach than others. Check out Wowhead's Mote of Nasz'uro guide for coordinates and map pins for the location of each orb.

This companion is unique, cannot battle, and cannot be caged. Although we've added it to WarcraftPets, re-importing collections will not flag the Mote of Nasz'uro as "collected" until the Blizzard Armory is updated to include this pet. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
