Bananas is an interesting choice to me - especially since it's not even a unique model and there's a baby gorilla that anyone catch catch in Stranglethorn in the wild (weather permitting, of course).
I do hope this means they'll consider bringing back more old or retired pets in alternate ways in the future. I'm still kicking myself every day for not getting any of the RAF pets, I really miss having the silver and gold pigs especially.
And of course there's always Frosty from WotLK CE, one of the pets I wanted most and could never find at the time.

This is tied to the rare Dionae in Bastion. She spawns in a cave at 41, 48. Upon defeating her the steward in the cave will offer you his stew pot as a reward, which is effectively the loot from killing the rare. Unfortunately the pet does not seem to be a 100% drop rate.
Ziggy is a flying companion, and even better, he will stay flying with you while you mount up too! I love pets that don't dismiss once you get in the air, I wish the behaviour was more consitent across pets.

Finally dropped for me, over 1000 skinned animals at least, I had something like 2500+ fiendish leather in my reagent bank by the time I got it. Cute little guy. :)
Changes between different colours on summon/dismiss! EDIT: or at least, my original one did, now the colours seem to be static
Has anyone else noticed that there are variable sizes for these guys? I'm not sure if it's coincidence, but the one I caught from a primary spawn is almost twice as large as the one I caught in a secondary battle. My friends and I compared ours side by side and found them to be slightly different in sizes too!
Since we now receive a Core Hound pet along with having an Authenticator, you could say that it's the one guarding your account from potential threats. :)
Frosty has finally, FINALLY come home today. This is a momentous occasion for me, I've never wanted a pet or a specific Collector's Edition more, I'm so emotional I managed to get my hands on one!
