Just got my rare! After hours of looking I checked the comments here. The strategy that ultimatly worked was. 

When you get there kill any diemetradon that donesnt have a hatchling. If one loads with a hatchling grab the hatchling and mark the diemtradon with a raid symbol leave it alone it will pop a new hatchling shortly keep flying around and finding more Diematrdons without hatchlings. 

This strategy got me a rare in 20 minutes, only ended up finding 3.

I have heard a lot of people talking of using the battle stones on pets.. I have also heard that a native rare has higher stats than one that was converted with a stone... Is this true?

Really confused. On one server I flew into Felwood on FP and as coming in I saw 5-8 minfernal loads! I got excited. Got on my mount and flew down there and there wasn't a single minfernal down there?? Whatever must have been someone grabbed them all somehow... Then just made a new character on new sever a DK and flew in and saw the same thing! Minfernal everywhere... Then when I got down there they were all gone??? What is going on is the a quest or something to make them appear????
