The NPC Lani is sitting on a rock at /way 10.77, 48.02.  See the previous comments for the details as they're spot on.  :-)

Also found as the primary pet in the Brakenhide Hollow on the Azure Span.  Tom Tom's not working for me, so it was in the upper left hand corner of the Azure Span map.

The information on how to get this pet (posted under "news" from this webpage) was very helpful and pretty much walked me through the process.   Four hours of twitch streaming in the background as I played WoW and I got the pet.  :-)

I spent dozens of hours farming Spineclaw crabs before I finally got this pet.  Given how much effort it took, I was hoping for more fanfare when it finally showed up as loot, maybe like a casino slot machine payout noise?  :-)

I used two toons to get this -  One on the west side of the island and one on the south.  I'd kill the 6 or so crabs on the west, and while waiting for those crabs to respawn, would switch to the toon on the south and kill those 6 - 8 crabs there.  Switch back to the West.  When I tried to use three toons to cover west, south and east, other players already sniped the crabs by the time I got back to them.  YMMV.

When I do the math on how much time this took, it would have been MUCH more efficient (and fun) to just buy the crab through the auction house.   Current prices around $400k.

Feb 2025 and getting this pet still requires a lot of patience.  The good news is I can confirm Leafmender still drops it, and Leafmender's schedule of showing up every hour hasn't changed, and the map drop pin is still accurate. 

If you farm the Ashleaf Sprite mobs while waiting for Leafmender to reappear and your toon has herb gathering, they drop junk level herbs.

I didn't find any Stormwind rats either in Stormwind or Elwinn Forest during the day, but I found them in Elwynn forest at night after 10:30 PM CST.   Not sure if these are nocturnal only pets or if it was just bad RNG on my part. 

Late Saturday night / early Sunday morning, 2:15 AM CST, no librams at the Dalaran Crater in the Hillsbrad Foothills.  Tuesday morning at 5:30 AM CST, there were 7 librams as the primary pet around the crater and some showing up as the secondary.  Books are for morning people, I guess.

During Winter Veil a "Father Winters Helper" NPC offers fast travel directly to Hillsbrad Foothills from IronForge, right next to the crater.  This made it a lot easier to check multiple times in a week.

Got Jingles from the daily quest provided by "Wulmort Jinglepocket" during WinterVeil in IronForge.  After reading the comments below, I used a flawless battle training-stone on it, and it leveled Jingles up just fine.  Looks like this bug has been fixed in 2024. 

A few quick tips mentioned before but are worth restating:

- By Wulmort there's a fireplace with a "Father WInters Helper" NPC that offers fast travel to take you directly to Hillsbrad Foothills, where the greench lives.  Plus, reindeer pulled sleighs are cool. 

- Jingles drops from the Stolen Present that Wulmort gives on quest turn-in, not from the Greench.  I was expecting the present to drop from the Greench, which was (in retrospect) wrong.

- If you hearthstone to the Stonefire Tavern located nearby in IronForge before taking the sleigh ride, returning from this quest is a lot quicker. 

Over 800 tries spread out in short intervalse across 4 days but finally got it.  In the Underbelly of Dalaran by the black market, not in a specific pool, just open water.  Gotta love fishing with a 5 minute timer until your guard runs away!

It's snowing in the Stormpeaks now.  1:09 PM PST, 12/18/24.  Just like the others said - when they're present, there's a bunch of them.

When it first appeared in my inventory, I was worried.  I thought this meant my last aquired pet had an infestation of some type.  To my surprise, this is a...  reward? 

I feel bad - someone listed one for one silver on the AH.    I mean, not bad enough to not buy it, but still.   Bad.
