So was it Blizzard's warped sense of humor intending for this.... thing... to disappear when you move off? Sometimes immediately, sometimes after a minute or so but it always gets bored and leaves fairly quickly. Disappointing. Haven't tried to battle it yet but love having a pet from my favorite raid boss in the game!

The key to the Anubisath/pet leveling delimma is simple: Stop relying on Sandstorm and go to the area outside Sunsong ranch packing a couple spiders. They are still crazy OP, and if you go right up there by the path leading to the Tavern in the Mists, there is a 2 second flight to a stable master. Brittle Web, Leech, wash repeat. Level any pet within an hour easily and nothing but grasshoppers and a couple aquatics there. Easy snacks for spiders.
