okay.. I'm not quite sure whats happening here right now... I just logged in to try my luck on this little fella. It's 4am in the morning. I found several in the caves below. The first one was a rare (lvl 18, H/S, no 2nd pet) and the second one was also a rare (lvl 18, H/S, no 2nd pet). I am in the third fight and guess what, again: a rare (lvl 18, H/S, no 2nd pet).
... bug ...?
Update in total: 7 rares, 2 uncommon, 4 common from 4am to 4:45am
Swamp of Sorrows - 9 Bags
I was running in circles through the swamp for "default" battle pets in this zone. Killing every shifting mireglob crossing my path. I was talking to my BF and said sth. like "it's not that easy to get one though...", killed a mireglob and the loot was a bag together with some trash. Was the first time I ever saw a bag and trash together as one loot and thought "maybe this means something" and tada there it was. :) Now my BF want one too *sigh*
For all of you who have a "skinchanger" scorpid:
Did it happen to be a "2nd" pet?
It seems that all joining battlepets with more than one skin can change into its other colors when summoned.
UPDATE:
The displayed skin of a skinchanger scorpid in the petjournal is grey. So if you caught a (for example) red scorpid and you have a grey one displayed in the journal, this most likely means you have a skinchanger. Summon it several times just in case. :)

It seems that Pets change through their alternate skins when you caught them as a joining pet.

Found mine in front of the Maraudon caves. For now only poor quality except one uncommon.

Got this for a friend of mine who refuses to play Worgen.
Don't know if its intentional or a bug, though.
Here is what I've done:
- bought the Raven with Worgen #1
- caged the Raven and gave it to my friend
"Problems" that occur after caging:
- Worgen #1 was unable to buy it again (it said "already known")
- none of my chars could summon it (greyed out)
Solution:
- bought the Raven with my Worgen #2
- can summon it with all my chars
Intentional or bug though?

1 pure black and 2 colorchanger (black & brown: both were combat joining pets)
Although it's not listed:
you can find Squirrels in Westfall. I stumbled upon one next to Sentinel Hill.
It was rare and it was level 3.

After several weeks of camping in Tanaris I finally logged into a sandstorm. First one ever seen in this zone. But no luck with the Silithid Hatchlings. Haven't seen a single one. Instead I was killed on sight and corpsecamped by two Hordeplayers.
Friend of mine actually once got so far to see a hatchling and get in combat but was killed by Hordeplayers while fighting. After that there were no more hatchlings but a lot more players ganking her.
Maybe I should create a toon on a pve-realm...
