Wow that updated Smoochums looks WAY worse than the current one. Why the hell is it being changed?

That seems...a friggin huge number of pet charms. Unless quests are rewarding like 50 per that seems a tad excessive. The number of vendor pets to wild pets is also rather annoying. I'm fine with vendor pets, but we got 32 gated behind  pet charm/rep grinds and only 27 that we can actually go out and tame on our own?

In addition to the pet, for people that collect pet related toys I can add that the torn sack also has a chance at rewarding a "Chain Pet Leash" toy.

Friend of mine got it from 10 man heroic.

Is this changed? I found it, cheered at it, was standing right by it, and it didn't go into either my book or my inventory.

 

Found another one, did the same thing, and it worked this time. Dunno why the first try didn't.

Dropped off first kill...lucky for me, since this was my most wanted AQ pet.

The DMF icon is rather eerie, and IMO, hints at something more sinister about the Faire(along with a line of dialogue at one of the quest givers and the general "feel" of the place). So naturally, as a lock, I had to get this one first.

~325 casts for me to get it, so if you don't get it quick, just keep trying, it'll turn up.

Simply by killing every fox I came across while doing the TB daily quests, I finally got this one after around a month's time. I never spent time running around just killing foxes, I just killed ones I saw while questing. So in other words, if you collect mounts, don't spend hours just grinding foxes, just do your TB dailies, kill the foxes you come across, and eventually you'll get it.

I'd just like to say don't be afraid to roll an ally toon and ask in trade if someone is willing to help you get this. I rolled a lvl 1 human, went to SW, asked in trade, and pretty quickly got 2 responses. One guy said he was willing to list it at neutral AH for the price of the mats, the other said he would list one the neutral AH for the super low price of 500g(all the ones listed on the Ally AH were 2k, and 500g was well below the price of mats, he just wanted to help a fellow collector).

I have to contradict Yaya here, I get Fossil dig sites a LOT more frequently in Kalimdor than I do in EK. Yes, the NE sites do clutter Kalimdor, but basically everything that isn't NE is Fossil, whereas in EK, you have to compete with both Dwarf and Troll sites(which are the vast majority of what I get in EK). Now, admittedly, since you can get pets from both those, you may wanna focus on EK, but if you're specifically grinding for this pet or the Fossil Raptor pet/mount, go Kalimdor.

Got mine yesterday morning via the Ticker method. I'd had the quest in my log(completed, but not turned in so I could keep the Ticker) for about a week now, camping for it at some times, other times just stopping by while doing other stuff. Finally hopped up there last night while doing Deepholm dailies, and there she was. Nobody else around, easy kill. Didn't seem to be too many people looking for her, in the the times I'd been there over the week, only twice did anyone else come up.

As of Children's Week 2011, the NR quests are working again, so if you picked the wolvar the first go round, now you'll be able to get this one.

This pet means Peanut has to wait another year to get picked by me now.

Prices on my server are hovering around the 3.5-5k range. I picked up one last night by going direct to a seller that I've had some dealings with in the past, and he let me have one for 3k, so not bad at all. The crystals alone are still 2.5-3k on my server...

Well, I've been doing the fishing daily every day since the droprate was increased(and before then, as well) and just today finally got it, so I dunno what the droprate is, but it's certainly MUCH lower than the crocs(once the droprate on those was increased I was getting a croc nearly every other time I did that quest).

In response to user "Holdencaufield" saying the daily comes up less since the droprate was increased, I'll say that it was just his bad luck, the randomization has not changed. On my server, after the drop rate was increased I was getting Crocs as the daily 3-4 times per week, which was MORE than what I had been getting it before. So no, the chance for Crocs to be the daily has not changed.

I like this one more than the other bears cause he actually looks fierce and aggressive.
