You can still battle stone them Ranok... I just did it. You have to summon it and use the battle stone on it before it runs off is all. Just gotta be quick.

Checked on the server a majority of my toons are on, a medium pop server and there was no snowy owls on radar but lots of people talking about them in general chat. Lots of cross realm people! :( So I switched over to my Ravenholdt toon, flew down to the Frostwhisper Gorge area, found 2 snowy owls, a P/B and a S/B, both poor but thats what stones are for! :)

Got a poor one just inside the outside arch to Ahn'qiraj. It and a bunch of others spawned at 3:00am exactly (about 15 seconds after the server time hit 3:00am) on a eastern US server. There was a ton of people out there, I had a target/focus macro for the guardling and landed and spammed interact with target hotkey and scored. Was on a pvp server, glad no one decided to be a jerk.
