After looking for a P/P bat for hours and finding every other possible breed repeatedly , I decided to catch a P/B on a whim. After capture it changed into a P/P. I tested this on a few further P/B bats and it happened again to each of them. I assume there is an ID glitch similar to what happens with the Tiny Harvester pet in Westfall.
