This is a -very rare- spawn in place of the other Avian Critters in Zereth Mortis. (As referenced by its description) I killed every Avian critter I could for hours and didn't get one to spawn, my friend got one after 10 minutes of killing. -.-;

I was just given this by my bodyguard (Bladesman Inowari) in Nazjatar upon them hitting Rank 20. They had a quest, Beauty in the Deeps, which was them simply rewarding it to me. The other 2 bodyguards give different items (A toy/mount), so it is only given by Inowari. Horde are given Lustrous Glimmershell by Poen Gillbrack, so this pet is only obtainable on an Alliance character.

 

One slight corrections: Hearthy is NOT available atm. 

 

 

There's only 960 total pets in the game (and only about 920ish are available for people without CEs, Blizzcon Pets, Recruit a Friend, and Other Game Promos)

 

 

So even if you happened to have every single pet in the game, you still couldn't get Hearthy until BFA. 

This kitten makes the more heart wrenching sound when it's killed in a pet battle. :( I almost don't want to use it so I never have to hear that again.
