I found that the spawn is VASTLY higher in the cul-de-sac are north of "The" in "The Dry Hills." Came across maybe three in the areas south of there, compared to the 18 I found in the specified area.

I feel bad. I kind of didn't realise how rare these were until I read one of the posts on the first page about how someone waited 12 hours for a spawn. Seven of them spawned pretty much all at once, I got a rare on my 2nd by it wasn't the 6, 16 breed so I kind of went around capturing the rest of them of them in the hopes of getting one.....

EDIT: Flew past today while doing my Winterpsring Daily and got my 6,16 rare!

Got mine today, after spending 5 or so hours yesterday trying everything that sounded even remotely plausible, and another 2 hours today doing nothing but flying around. I'm of the opinion that nothing you do actually affects the spawn, and that anything people have noticed that seems to affect it is just coincidence.

Despite what some have said, it DOES spawn during the day, just caught one outside the Kara entrance at 12:30 server time.

The spawn of this guy seems very strange. I hunted him for hours starting at around 6 or 7 pm server time and I'd go to each of the spawn locations, take out all of the lava crabs (battle pet or normal critters) and then fly on. I did this for at least 2 hours and only came across 3 molten hatchlings the whole time. I then gave up for a while, came back 15 minutes later and there were at least 4 spawns. It's almost as though killing the lava crabs limited their spawn.
