Same thing happened with me as it did with Midknyght, except I waited until after the dungeon was over/I had defeated the final boss to go out and look for the mailbox...So I guess it doesn't matter when you try to find the Postmaster?

You don't need to use a Terrible Turnip for this pet OR the Fledgling Kingfeather in order not to kill it accidentally. Just use a Nordrassil Wisp w/Soul Ward, Flash, and Beam. Gets 'em every time!
