It took me at least 90 snow piles to finally get one.  I hear a lot of people say they got it after 5, or 10, tries so its very random. 

I tried serveral times over the past 3 days to get a rare one and my efforts were rewarded this morning with a rare S/S breed.   I suggest trying characters from different servers to farm this little guy.  Good luck & have fun!

I was after a rare one - Spent several hours looking in Booty Bay & vacinity with no luck.  Went to Tol Barad Penninsula (Rustburg Village) and killed all the level 1 wharf rats, and any that were not rare.  In less than 5 minutes I had a rare one!  Thank you for the tip on Told Barad - it was also my first time there too :)

Wow, I think I went through at least 100 battles before I finally found a rare one!   I nearly gave up hope and then finally found it as 2nd to a moth in Krasarang Wilds.

On Aerie Peak Server - I think there is something wrong with the spawn of this battle pet. I have spent the past 2 days clearing this zone of every one of these pets four times and never once has a "rare" shown up (also cleared ALL pets twice). Also, every single spawn I have seen are has been a B/B - never anything different.

UPDATE:  Switched to a different server.  Did 2 passes through the zone and was about to give up and finally found a rare one!
