Im pretty certain these do NOT come in a rare version. I couldnt find any after trying for an entire day and night. Directly at server reset time there were tons all up in the cliff tops, however I've made 10 rounds non stop for the last 2 hours, I've killed at least 60 and NO rares anywhere.

Of course 12 later I find a rare. I really thought they didnt exist.

You have to go at night between 11pm and 2am server time. The locations marked on the map are correct. I found so many down by K3, none rare but I have a stone.

In Deepholm at The Quaking Fields, TONS of Emeralds but no rares. I have however gotten three rares of each Twilight Beetle, Stowaway Rat and Crystal Beetles.  I've been farming the Emeralds for almost 4 hours  now and not a single rare.

Found a rare on my second try, also just south of Turrem, if there are lots of big ones around there will be lots of little ones.
