BlizzCon 2016 Pets Now Live
Knight-Captain Murky
This year's in-game redeemable BlizzCon pets are added directly to eligible players' Pet Journals. Convention attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will find two new journal entries.

Selecting and clicking on the gift icons for each entry will reveal Knight-Captain Murky (pictured right) and Legionnaire Murky (pictured below)!

Legionnaire Murky
Although collectors will receive both pets, these pets can only be summoned and used in a Pet Battle by their appropriate faction.

We'll be adding the two new Murky pets to our database in the near future, thank you for your understanding and patience!

UPDATE: We've added both murloc pets to our database. Happy collecting!

Post-BlizzCon 2016 Wrap Up and Community Meet-Up

November 07, 2016
BlizzCon 2016 was an exciting whirlwind of previews and reveals for all Blizzard titles. We hope you enjoyed the celebration of all things Blizzard as much as we did!

Pet Battle Announcements
Mischief
New Charity Pet
One of the announcements during this year's BlizzCon is a new charity pet coming this winter — Mischief! (pictured above) [source]

Starting December 1, 2016 through the end of the year, 100% of the proceeds for this fel kitten will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit charity.

We hope Mischief will be gift-able. What better way to celebrate the upcoming holiday season and support a worthy cause, than to share an adorable pet with friends and family?

Return of Brawler's Guild
Clock'em
During the 'World of Warcraft - What's Next' panel Blizzard announced that the Brawler's Guild will be making a return in Patch 7.1.5 (release date not yet announced).

Previously, collectors had to reach Rank 4 in the Brawler's Guild to unlock Clock'em. We hope that this battle pet will also be returning with the reopening of the guild.

If you haven't collected Clock'em yet, keep an eye out for Patch 7.1.5 announcements!

The Future of Pet Battles
Last but not least, Blizzard dropped a massive teaser of what's to come in Pet Battles.

During the 'World of Warcraft Q&A' panel, a player inquired about the future of Pet Battles. Game Director Ion Hazzikostas answered with three little words:

"Pet Battle Dungeon."

No additional information was provided, nor an estimated release date for this new content. For now, we can only speculate as to what a dungeon of this nature will entail.

Keep in mind that although this concept was mentioned at BlizzCon, it's likely still a work in progress and is not guaranteed to be released. Still, we can't wait to learn more about Pet Battle Dungeons!

WarcraftPets Community Meet-Up
We'd like to thank Marzena for once again organizing and hosting this year's WarcraftPets Community Meet-Up!

We're still in the process of winding down from the convention and gathering all of the wonderful BlizzCon Meet-Up pictures, so stay tuned. Keep an eye on the WarcraftPets Facebook page; we'll be adding a BlizzCon 2016 photo album in the near future.

We look forward to the next BlizzCon and WarcraftPets gathering! And of course, thank you to ALL of our users for your continued support.

Pet Battle Royale: Pilgrim's Bounty Feast Fight

November 14, 2016
Pet Battle RoyaleWhile pet battling can be a good time, sometimes it's a lot of fun to think how our favorite companions might fare in a different kind of fight. The ring is ready for another Pet Battle Royale!

Here, we present different battle pets and then you, the WarcraftPets community, vote to determine the winner.

Feast Fight
As the weather gets colder and the nights get longer, it's time for a feast to end the summer. However, in Azeroth, each part of the big meal has feelings. It's alright, they don't mind the whole being eaten thing. No, this dust up is about which part of the meal is really the star.

Here’s the tale of the tape...

Pierre

Breed: Pierre
Name: Pierre-Henri Corne D'Abondance
Age: 33 years
Height: 3 feet 6 inches
Weight: 233 pounds, 5 ounces
Hometown: Lion's Pride Inn
Signature Move: Heat Up
Favorite Food: Wood

Highlands Turkey

Breed: Highlands Turkey
Name: Thomas Truthahn
Age: 3 years, 7 months
Height: 3 feet 3 inches
Weight: 13 pounds 8 ounces
Wingspan 3 feet 2 inches
Hometown: Twilight Highlands
Signature Move: Food Coma
Favorite Food: Sunflower Seeds

Terrible Turnip

Breed: Terrible Turnip
Name: Brassica rapa
Age: 5 months
Height: 1 foot 8 inches
Weight: 1 pounds, 3 ounces
Hometown: Halfhill, Valley of the Four Winds
Signature Move: Sons of the Root
Favorite Food: Fertilizer

You Decide Who Wins!
So, WarcraftPets, who should win?

The Turnip is both at an advantage and less so for its battling prowess. Weakening Blow makes it an essential part of any team, but on its own it can be a bit disappointing, much like mashed turnips (even if you add garlic and herb butter). The Highland Turkey is the centerpiece, full of flash with moves like Flock, but without its friends it makes for a lackluster meal as well. Of course, Pierre can be a good stand-alone fighter, but without the other two, he's just full of hot air.

Here's hoping they can cooperate just long enough to get on my plate.

Head to the poll and cast your vote

Voting ends November 21st, so don't delay in helping decide which pet takes all!

Corgi Pup
Upon logging in, you will receive a gift package in the mail containing 200 Timewarped Badges, a Celebration Package, and an item that begins a quest.

The quest will take you to a specific vendor either in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, both of which sell the Corgi Pup for 200 Timewarped Badges. How convenient!

Although the Timewalking Event is not currently active, you can still collect the currency by completing an event-specific daily quest for 25 Timewarped Badges.

The Anniversary Event ends on November 30th, 2016 so don't delay in collecting your very own Corgi Pup.

A big Thank You to Blizzard for 12 years of adventures, stories, and most of all, pets! May there be many more years of fun to come.

Lil' Leftovers — Pet of the Month: November 2016

November 22, 2016
Lil' Leftovers - Pet of the Month November 2016

We can all appreciate seasonal food that doesn't quite get finished and somehow ends up buried deep in the refrigerator, so is this month's pet the result of a forgotten holiday meal? We're covering Lil' Leftovers!

Collecting Lil' Leftovers
Lil' Leftovers
Lil' Leftovers is a battle pet referencing a comic by Cadistra.

This pet is crafted with the Cooking profession. A specific skill level is not required; it is simply a rare drop while cooking any Draenor recipe. Many of these recipes can only be discovered by cooking other Draenor food.

To begin your cooking adventures, you'll need to pick up The Joy of Draenor Cooking. This can be tricky as it's a random drop from creatures in Draenor.

Once you've learned the item, just start cooking the new recipes! Better stock up on materials though, since this pet has a low drop chance. Using a Chef's Hat can help speed up the cooking process.

Lil' Leftovers, being technically food, will not eat any pet treats such as Magical Mini-Treats or Magical Pet Biscuits. An error message will pop up, "Food cannot eat food." How apt!

Battling with Lil' Leftovers
Lil' Leftovers is a battler as quirky as its flavor would indicate. Every one of its abilities has a twist.

It has reflexive healing Absorb as its only filler offense move. Chew is its only other offense move, but its every-other nature makes it a bit tough to use in practice. Adding to the conundrum, the two offensive moves share a slot.

The rest of the moves Lil' Leftovers uses could be classified as support or control moves. The two moves in its second slot both mitigate incoming damage. Crouch halves all incoming damage for 3 turns, while Stench reduces the entire enemy’s hit chance by 25%. This also potentially reduces incoming damage, but is less controllable.

Lil' Leftovers using Food Coma
The last slot features two quirky moves. Food Coma (pictured above) is a relatively straightforward sleep effect. High Fiber removes all buffs and debuffs from Lil' Leftovers, which can be a bit tricky to manage, but might be just the trick against a pet that likes to apply DoT damage or a multiplier.

Lil' Leftovers might not be the very first pet you’d think to put on your team, but will faithfully be there every time you open the fridge (whether you’d like it to be or not).

Battling Discussion on Lil' Leftovers

Pet of the Month is co-written by Liopleurodon, an experienced pet battler and long-time WoW player. She maintains her own Pet Battle blog and is a Pet Battle columnist on the fansite Blizzard Watch.
