This guy is very easy to find in Karasang around the Anglers areas. If you do their dailies you'll probably spot him at some point. I only managed to snag an uncommon, but he has ridiculous HP.
Got my rare this morning just outside Kirthaven as a second to a Yellow-Bellied Marmot. I looked for this little guy a lot last night but had no luck. Today it was my first pet battle.
A couple of things I've noticed about this pet: I have yet to see one as a primary pet. Also, they have the exact same six moves as the Pet Shop Gryphon Hatchling, just in a different order.
Catching this pet makes you Neutral with the Wildhammer Clan if you aren't already.
Got my rare on the beach my the Ruins of Eldarath after about 4 fights. There were plenty around and I can confirm that sometimes Twilight Spiders are their secondaries.
Randomly ended up DPSing for a raid group to kill him - with about 20 other pepople. The fight was quite quick given that everyone was at least 85 but most were at max. Only rolled a 26, winner rolled a 96. Such is my luck. :/
Gotta love my level 25 rare garden moth for wild pet battles. It just does so well and is so fast where my other pets lack. Sure, it's not necessarily the best for PvP or even higher end tamer battles, but it was my first max level pet and a go-to for wild encounters.
My favorite moveset is typically [Alpha Strike] [Cocoon Strike] [Moth Dust], maybe switching out for [Adrenaline Rush] if facing an Undead enemy, or if you aren't statted for speed.
Found a rare spawn last night around 4am, accidentally killed it as my pets were all level 12+. *headdesk*
My tip for that: Assuming you don't one hit the thing, calculate the damage you did to it then pass until it lands enough successful hits to heal itself some, then attack and pray you don't crit.
Found another rare spawn as soon as I got on this morning. Super pleased!
Just caught my rare at around 2:44 AM EST on Moon Guard. There were a bunch hanging out just outside the Caverns of Time entrance, and even more inside.
Accidentally killed the first rare I found, then after numerous pet battles I finally found another. On my way out more had spawned so apparently they respawn pretty quickly around this time of day.
